New Leaf Triangle isn’t just another BHS Approved Centre. Since 2014, it’s offered a nurturing environment for young individuals with autism, ADHD and other neurodiverse conditions. With multiple sites and 20 horses and ponies, they don't just teach riding – they inspire a genuine love for horses and the outdoors in a warm, therapeutic manner.
The centre is proud to be part of our Changing Lives through Horses programme. Through one-on-one sessions, young people aged 5 to 24 are engaged in activities that range from horse riding to green wood working or archery. These sessions are more than just lessons; they're life-changing opportunities.
To prepare for the championships, New Leaf Triangle has been hosting qualifiers that test riding skills and stable management knowledge. These activities also emphasise the importance of a well-turned-out pony with every mane finely plaited and tack gleaming. It’s not just about competing; it’s about building bonds and confidence.
The top four riders in each class will move on to the national championships in April, ready to represent their centre with pride.
Troy Shaw, Executive Director and Accredited Professional Coach at New Leaf Triangle, shared, "Our students have shown remarkable dedication. Competing nationally gives them a real sense of achievement. It's more than just winning – it's about building friendships and acquiring life skills."
