Make sure your towing skills are safe and up to scratch with our equine trailer towing clinic.
The government scrapped the car and trailer towing test in 2021, but are you confident in towing, manoeuvring and reversing?
Your horse is precious and ensuring their safety whilst towing is understandably paramount to your peace of mind and their well-being. Picking up some extra skills and tips to help your horse remain calm, relaxed and ready for whatever rides you are planning to take is a great investment for your and your horse.
Whether you're a seasoned tower or just getting started join our specialist clinic with equine savvy instructor Phill Smith from Positive Training Solutions.
The training consists of the following:
1. Pre use checks – vehicle and trailer
2. Coupling of trailer
3. General driving, lane discipline, observations, obstruction and kerb clearance
4. Reversing – straight line, left hand & right hand manoeuvre.
5. Understanding of weight distribution and how it affects handling.
You might already have a trailer and be towing but want the reassurance of a lesson to boost your knowledge and confidence, or perhaps you're thinking of investing in a trailer and want to make sure you have some training before you head out on the road with your horse on board.
Bring your own car and trailer or use the car and trailer provided.
Cost: £50 per person (All payment transactions will be subject to a small booking fee to cover the booking and payment processing charges.)
Two sessions available - 9.00am-12.30pm & 1.00pm-4.30pm.
