In the early part of this year, we surveyed BHS members on how they searched for coaches and what they look for when finding a coach. We hope the feedback we have received will help you to provide the information your potential clients are looking for to choose you as a coach.

• 84% of respondents said they read your biographies on the coach profiles.
• Respondents want to know who you are through your profile – what are your main strengths, and do you have any specialities?
• After location the most important information a person looked for when searching for a coach was whether you align to their own training ethos and beliefs.
• Respondents wanted to know in which disciplines you provide training and to what level.
• Respondents would like to know
  • what your price range is
  • how far you will travel
  • what facilities you have access to

We have made several additions to the appearance and content of the coach profile:

• You will now be able to add a photo of yourself to your profile
• You will be able to list the qualifications you hold
• You will be able to list the services you provide
• If you regularly coach at a BHS Approved Centre or have links to other facilities you can link to these
• We have added a link to a ‘Qualifications Explained page’ so people viewing your profile can find out more about the BHS qualifications you hold
• We have created a list of questions to help you write your biography for your profile.
