About Us
HorseBack UK is the multi-award-winning charity (registration number SC040765) which, through horsemanship and equine assisted learning, works to improve health and social well-being, inspire recovery, self-esteem, positive change and purpose amongst those who need it most and improve education and employment prospects for those who are disadvantaged or marginalised. We deliver projects and personal development programmes that encourage participants to acquire new coping strategies, life skills and resilience whilst gaining nationally accredited awards and qualifications.
Our beneficiaries include military personnel both veterans and serving, local school groups, racing welfare beneficiaries, local council substance misuse groups and recently, Princes’s Trust courses to 16-25 year olds from the local community. Although when the Charity started focus was on physical injury this has completely changed and now our main focus is improving mental health within these groups.
Over the past 12 years we have seen equine assisted learning and therapy have a huge impact on our clients with many suffering from anxiety, depression as well as a lack of confidence and self esteem. By the end of our programmes, new friendships are established, confidence is at an all time high and many go on to education, full or part time work or volunteering.
